Working at Villa Maria Estate

Villa Maria Estate Limited was founded in Mangere, Auckland, in 1961. With vision and determination the Company has become New Zealand’s leading wine award winner, both locally and overseas.

In 1976 Villa Maria purchased the long established Hawke’s Bay winery, Vidal Estate.

The winery has been substantially modified, upgraded and expanded over the years and is a major tourist attraction because of its superb brasserie and cellar shop.

In 1987 the Villa Maria group also purchased the Esk Valley Estate winery at Bay View, just north of Napier.

While retaining the best features of the winery, Villa Maria has refurbished and repositioned it to become one of New Zealand’s leading boutique wineries.
  

Locations

The Villa Maria group currently comprises four sites located in Auckland, Hawke’s Bay and Marlborough.

The Villa Maria Auckland winery together with bottling, warehousing, Head Office and functions centre are located at 118 Montgomerie Road in Mangere.

A second Villa Maria winery is located in New Renwick Road in Marlborough, with Esk Valley Estate and Vidal Estate located in Napier and Hastings respectively.
