Vineyard Description

The Maxwell Vineyard is situated in the exceptional Southern Clays, nestled in the gentle north facing foothills of the Ben Morven Valley in Marlborough. The vineyard’s clay soils, coupled with a strong pursuit of vine health and balance, have resulted in fruit of outstanding quality.

WINEMAKING 

After receiving skin contact post crushing, the juice was pressed and went to stainless steel tanks, where a long and cool fermentation took place. Subsequently to the fermentation, the wine remained in contact with the lees for four extra months for maturation, before it was then fined out with gentle milk and egg products, filtered and bottled.

Winemaker's Comment

Pure and intense aromas of boxwood and passionfruit combine with underlying green capsicum and lime notes. The palate is full and rich exploding with blackcurrant, grapefruit and a subtle complex mineral note. The intense fruit notes are complemented by well balanced acidity, creating a long lingering finish.
