Villa Maria has a long held objective to be environmentally responsible and to operate using sustainable practices. Fruit for this wine was sourced from our Joseph Soler Vineyard situated on the border of the Gimblett Gravels in Hawkes Bay. We have been operating this vineyard organically since 2001, with 21 hectares now fully BioGro-certified including those from which the grapes for this wine were harvested. This vineyard is managed with a focus on enhancing soil vitality to grow healthy and balanced vines, utilising organic products and methods to work with nature to ensure quality fruit.
.A dark crimson hue leads to a vibrant nose of red plum, boysenberry and subtle spice with cedar oak undertones. A soft and generous palate combines with silky tannins, making this an excellent food wine.
