The fruit for this wine comes from a variety of vineyards in the Awatere Valley, featuring a spread of vine ages and viticultural techniques. The common thread through all the vineyards is close attention to vine balance and health. This enables the vineyard to optimise the ‘site expression’ and unique characteristics of the Awatere Valley.
The Reserve is a classic example of concentrated and vibrant Sauvignon Blanc displaying powerful aromas of currants, wild grass, and fresh lime threaded with exotic herb notes. An explosive, concentrated palate gives way to a long mineral and steely finish with sleek acidity.
This wine can be enjoyed now but will further develop with 18 to 24 months of careful cellaring.
