Karen Fistonich is a Director of the Villa Maria Estate Board and has served on the Board of Directors for 25 years, following a successful career in banking with ANZ.
From 2011 to 2017 Karen was on the Board of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, New Zealand’s international business development agency and was proud to contribute to their efforts to support businesses seeking to grow internationally.
In 2011 Karen also joined the Board of the Auckland Theatre Company to help support them in their efforts to secure a permanent home on the Auckland Waterfront, an aspiration now achieved in 2016. She is a trustee of the Waterfront Theatre Trust and a director of Waterfront Theatre Limited.
In 2015 Karen joined New Zealand Food Innovation Auckland Ltd, more commonly known as the FOODBOWL. The FOODBOWL is a facility where companies can produce commercial runs of new products for trial marketing and hence capitalise on both domestic and export opportunities.
Karen is a member of Te Hono Movement which brings together New Zealand Primary Sector Industry leaders who are prepared to collaborate and share expertise for sustainable growth in the primary sector. She is also a member of the New Zealand Global Women network, which encourages women into senior and leadership roles. In her spare time, Karen has been involved in community work, assisting various sporting clubs with organizational duties and fundraising efforts.
