This wine displays bright lemon and straw hues in the glass. The nose offers a complex array of aromas including white peach, fresh grapefruit zest and roasted cashews. A textured, layered palate unfolds revealing further complexity, mealy notes and lovely linear acidity with a long elegant finish.

Vineyards and Winemaking
Vertical Shoot Position (VSP) trellising with 2 cane pruning was employed which resulted in low yielding vines. Free draining soils and a unique soil profile lead to the production of a distinctive Chardonnay. 2017 provided optimum conditions for ripening fruit with delicious flavour and balanced acidity.
This every elegant, youthful wine was estate-grown at Mangere, in South Auckland, and fermented and matured for 10 months in oak barriques (31% new). Fragrant, with slightly smoky aromas, it is tightly structured, with deep vibrant, grapefruit-like flavours, enriched with biscuity oak, and a crisp, long finish. Showing excellent delicacy and complexity, it's well worth cellaring to 2021+.Michael Cooper
