THe fruit for this wine is sourced from the Longfield Vineyard, located on the southern boundary of the central valley floor in the Wairau Valley in Marlborough and is characterised by clay and loam based soils. Pruned to balance the site naturally it exhibits concentrated fruit and is encouraged to develop botrytis early. With careful late season management the fruit is harvested after the botrytis has drawn much of the berries’ moisture, concentrating sugar, acid and flavour.
